Validate a Mobile App Idea Before Building with AI
Validating a mobile app idea means looking for evidence that it helps real people with a real task. AI can make an idea easier to visualise, but an attractive concept and useful behaviour are different kinds of evidence.

Friends may like the idea of a club event app. Watching someone try to find the next event can reveal a more specific need, such as clearer dates or an easier way to see cancellations.
Feedback gives a prototype its purpose
Apple’s app design guidance connects validation with observed use and patterns in feedback. That perspective makes an early version a way to learn about the problem, beyond simply adding more features.
Interest and repeated use provide different evidence
Someone liking a mockup expresses a reaction to an idea. Someone returning to solve the same problem provides another kind of evidence. Neither observation should be silently treated as proof of the other.
The question being explored also matters. A prototype may reveal whether an interaction is understandable without showing whether people want the product enough to keep using it. This connects validation with clearly defined uncertainty, rather than treating any positive response as confirmation of the entire app.
